Running and Sunsets and Sunrises and Running

Story of my life.  (Besides the other chapter, entitled Study and Work and Class and Class and Work and Study and Sometimes Sleep.)  I seem to spend many of my days chasing sunrises, sunsets, and finish lines.  Here are a few recent examples.

David and I took some time to check out a nice little local museum for sunset.  It's a nice little place we like to call The Getty.

We got up extra early on another day to catch the sunrise at another place with a lovely view of downtown Los Angeles called Griffith Observatory.

Last time we did a color run, we had such an amazing time that we signed up for another with some friends of ours.  Run or Dye!!
A little sloppy on the logistics, but once we got going, we had ourselves a fabulous time.

And finally, there was Canyonlands Half Marathon, take two. Or take ten if you're David - he's done it so many times, they have a special club for him.  True story.

I actually trained for this race, like, legitimately.  I did all my long runs and cross-trained and squeezed in as many short mid-week runs as I could.  And I didn't get injured beforehand (unless you count IT band pain, which I don't), so for this race, I was actually adequately prepared.  To add to it all, it was an overcast day in Moab.  Optimal weather conditions!  Bonus!

I had a great race - 1:56:29, and I was feeling strong at the end.  It was fastest of all the half marathons I've ever done by about 4 minutes, and my first ever that was under 2 hours.

We had a small fan club cheering for us this year - David's parents and sister came down for the race.  Aunt Jane had come down to run the 5 miler, and she was there rooting for us, too.  David got to join the rest of the 10-year clubbers after the race in an exclusive tent with lemon frosted cookies and a massage therapist, but I got my own massage on the grass from Emily and Mom Chipman (which I'm pretty sure rivaled the one David got).  In short, it was just an amazing day.

I know this is really going to surprise you, but while we were in beautiful southern Utah, we also caught a few sunsets/sunrises.
